More severe discoloration can be caused by certain medications and illness.

Professional whitening systems have to be carried out under the supervision of a dentist in the UK. It’s essential to remember that teeth whitening is a treatment, not just a product. This means a dentist is needed to perform the treatment, take your moulds or 3D scan and have your customised whitening trays made. They can also give you whitening gels containing low strength of carbamide peroxide or low strength of Hydrogen peroxide and perform a full examination of your teeth prior to treatment, to make sure you are a suitable candidate.
UK law prohibits the selling of professional teeth whitening gels directly to the general public because they can only be provided under the supervision of a dentist.
We strongly encourage you to choose a reputable dentist such as Bespoke Dental Fulham for your treatment, and avoid non-medical professionals claiming to offer this treatment safely.
Home whitening – Our home whitening options from Boutique and EnlightenTM involve having a digital scan, from which bespoke whitening trays are produced and fitted by appropriately trained members of our dental team. You can then choose to wear your trays during the day or the night, applying the whitening gel, before placing them over your teeth. The tooth whitening gel is low strength carbamide peroxide or low strength hydrogen peroxide, and we only use products that have been extensively researched and safe for you to use at home following our instructions.
Home whitening generally takes two weeks in most cases.
But if you have a complex case then it can take up to 8 weeks. Your dentist will be able to give you an accurate expectation during your initial appointment.
Combination home whitening and in surgery whitening – This whitening method involves combination of home teeth whitening followed up by an in-surgery whitening session.
