However, we understand that some patients might need an extra helping hand to relax before their surgery. Implant placement is a big life event, so we’re completely sympathetic to dental anxiety and nervousness. Something that can completely eliminate feelings of anxiety during the surgery is IV sedation. This is a form of conscious sedation where you will experience deep feelings of relaxation and wellbeing. Whilst you will feel drowsy, your body’s safety faculties are still present the whole time you are sedated, so you can still communicate anything you might need to the dentist.

Who is a candidate for dental implants?
Any patient who has missing teeth that they want replaced could be eligible for treatment with the use of dental implants. However, your suitability can only be confirmed following a thorough consultation.

How long does it take?
There is no single answer to this question. From the day an implant is placed, right through to the day your new tooth can be placed, takes around 4-6 months. If a tooth needs to be extracted prior to treatment, the bone will need to heal for approximately 3 months before it’s strong enough to be a healthy foundation for an implant. The timescale will also be a few months longer if you require a bone graft or sinus lift before your implant surgery day.
